In order to realise large refit works and new projects,LYS organizes and coordinates work teams composed of all the required experienced team members, from planners to surveyors. Our intent is to help the ship owner to choose the right shipyard, to define the financial terms and to follow him step after step till the yacht is launched.
New construction
Following an attentive and in-depth discussion with the customer, intended to understand tastes and wishes,LYS will advise upon the best architects and designers able to develop the
brief received; obviously, it is possible that customers already have a
preference in the matter, and they would then indicate the persons they
would like to employ in the project. Once the preliminary drawings have
been obtained and the contract and appropriate specifications have been
agreed upon, we will contact different shipyards and boat builders we
trust to request estimates and quotes, so as then to negotiate
construction contracts, payment schedules, delivery conditions, etc.
The next step consists in constant supervision of the work carried out by the selected shipyard to ensure that the contract and the technical specifications are complied with and that both the qualitative standards and delivery deadlines are met.
Throughout the construction period LYS will supervise all the works in progress, drawing up periodic reports keeping the client informed on progress and on any changes which may be required.
LYSwill also organise and supervise the drydock survey, the sea trial and, if the client should so desire, will be available for outfitting the yacht, organising the crew, and arranging for insurance and registration.
Refitting
Thanks to the experience of its staff and its contacts with many shipyards and experts in the yachting industry, LYSis able to follow and advise its clients for any refitting works.
Following a careful and detailed inspection of the yacht, a list of
works will be developed together with the vessel’s owner and crew, as
well as a budget proposal based on the customer’s requirements and the
estimates provided by the chosen shipyard.

Our staff will be responsible for providing follow-up on the work,
ensuring that it is carried with the maximum expertise and that the
estimated budget is followed as well as the delivery times. The owner
will be kept informed concerning the status of the work in progress and
will periodically receive detailed reports including photographs and
cost analysis.
